Hastingwood is a small hamlet situated on the outskirts of Harlow, Epping and North Weald. Within the boundries of our hamlet there is a large area of common grassland, on which the grazing of livestock including horses is permitted, a pond where fishing is allowed, a considerable area of farmland and approximately 150 houses. Facilities within the hamlet include a well respected care home; St Clare Hospice, a local pre-school nursery, a joinery and interiors company, a computer supplies shop and several independently run businesses. There are several pubs; The Horns & Horseshoes and The Gatekeeper, both of which serve very good food. For a superb steak, try the Rainbow & Dove. Towards the outskirts on the A414, there is a highly reputable garden centre with an excellent tea-room serving fabulous cakes!
