Open Garden Party
Since the group was formed eighteen months ago, we hwve worked tirelessly on your behalf and, after numerous meetings with County Council, District Council, Parish Council, the police and numerous M.Ps, we have been successful in obtaining a 40mph speed limit in Hastingwood Road, Mill Street, Foster Street and Harlow Common. Although this has not yet been fully implemented, we are assured that this will occur in the very near future. We have also been advised that when the work has been completed on the A414, we will have discussions with Councillor Hume, Head of Highways, about the reinstatement of our grass verges and the width reduction of our roads, which again we hope will be successful.
We have also had many discussions with GBN & Epping Forest District Council, and it looks very hopeful that the plans submitted for 14 residential houses on the GBN site will be carefully considered. To give this the best chance possible, the group have employed a Mr R Bintley M.A Dip TP. IHBC (a town planning consultant) to help us in our tak. We believe the removal of GBN lorries from our roads will be beneficial to everyone living in Hastingwood. However charges for this will be incurred. In order to raise the necessary funds, we would like to invite you to:
Open Garden Party:
28th August 2010
from 3p.m. to 8p.m.
at The Laurels, Hastingwood Road (next to the Village Hall)
If the weather is bad, we will hold the event in the Village Hall. There will be home made cakes, cream teas and refreshments, with live music.
We urgently need your support to continue campaigning on your behalf.
We look forward to seeing you at the end of the month.
There will be a charge of £1 per person to enter, though children go free. Although children will be very welcome in the garden, they are the responsibility of the adults who’ve brought them along. Thank you.
